Sheyi Ojo has spoken to RangersTV following his maiden competitive appearance for the Gers.

The 22-year-old winger was outstanding throughout, in a 4-0 win over St Joseph’s in Gibraltar.

Just as he had two days previously in a friendly against Oxford United, Ojo scored with a precise left foot finish.

Yet, that wasn’t his only contribution. He showed pace and a willingness to get at defenders. He’s currently rated at £1.8m by Transfermarkt but looks a real star in the making.

Encouragingly, he’s already spoken of how he feels at home at Rangers [Scottish Sun]. Since receiving the opportunity to play in front of the club’s supporters, that’s only been furthered.

“The fans are amazing, genuinely I feel like Rangers have one of the best, if not the best fans in the world,” Ojo told RangersTV.

“For me to play in front of them today was amazing and I just want to say thank you to everyone who came out here and we look forward to seeing you at Ibrox next week.”

Next up for Ojo and co. is a friendly against Marseille on Sunday. Steven Gerrard will be using that fixture as preparation for the second leg of their Europa League QR1 tie with St Joseph’s, next Thursday.
