Serie A manager ruled out of Rangers running amid agent talk claims

Rangers are not currently interested in appointment Bologna manager Sinisa Mihajlovic to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst as one club partner puts any links down to agent talk.

The Gers are currently in the process of replacing Dutchman Gio after sacking the coach following poor results in the Scottish Premiership allowing the side to fall nine points behind in the title race.

In the aftermath of the Van Bronckhorst sacking, there have been numerous names linked to Rangers with current Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic one of them.

Despite currently managing Bologna in Serie A – a role he has been in for three years – the former Serbia star has been linked with Rangers by reports in Italy.

El Resto Del Carlino are claiming that despite being on the Bologna payroll, Sinisa Mihajlovic is very interested in the job at Rangers job with the compensation set at £867k.

But Heart & Hand host David Edgar has attributed the links to agent talk and whilst Sinisa Mihajlovic might be interested in the Rangers job, the prominent Ibrox media figure claims Rangers are not interested in him.

“If you begin to hear names being mentioned for the job through various news channels in various countries, then I think that’s their agent getting in touch with the media in this country to let them know,” said David Edgar on the platform’s Daily Update for 23/11/22.

“One such name that came up was Sinisa Mihajlovic, he is interested in the Rangers job and Rangers are not so far interested in him.

”Rangers can expect to receive a lot of that, some of whom will be completely no chance, others will be quite interesting.”

Rangers continue the hunt for a new manager but it looks like out of everyone prominently linked, Sinisa Mihajlovic certainly comes under the outside bet category.

But whilst the Serbian is not currently on Rangers’ shortlist, apparently the club have sounded out a different European manager.
