Steven Gerrard has provided an update on the availability of Scott Arfield, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The 30-year-old was a key figure for Rangers throughout last season. Particularly, when he was moved to a more advanced position towards the end of the league campaign.

However, international duty has ensured he’s missed all of Rangers’ pre-season to date. He captained Canada to the Quarter-Finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup before they were dumped out by Haiti.
That disappointment came at the end of last month, and Arfield will join up with his teammates this week. Unfortunately, though, his return comes too late to feature against St Joseph’s.

It would have been nice to have Arfield in contention for the first leg against St Joseph’s.
However, barring a completely disastrous outing the Gers shouldn’t need to be near full strength in order to defeat the Gibraltarians.
Arfield’s absence hands an early opportunity for someone else either in midfield or behind the striker.
With a long season ahead, it’s crucial not to rush such an important player back. Therefore, perhaps a run out from the bench during the home leg is the best possible scenario.
