Daniel Candeias has spoken to RangersTV ahead of the new season.
The 31-year-old winger is heading into his third campaign as a Ger and has enjoyed the week-long training camp in his native Portugal.

The club have been busy in the transfer window, recruiting plenty of wide players in particular. The likes of Sheyi Ojo, Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones have all joined the ranks this month.
However, the Portuguese insists he’s happy with the additions and is feeling better than ever.
“Last year was tougher and now we have moved up another level so it is hard but I think people have come into this pre-season with more confidence,” Candeias
told RangersTV. “I think this year I have come back better, I feel better so far. I have moved up a group in the running this season. Last year I was running with Alfredo!”
“The competition is good for me, you need to work harder and you also improve more.
“I am looking forward to this season and the important thing is that the team is stronger than last year. This season we have not only signed great players but also great people so I am very happy.”

Verdict

Candeias has given 100% for the club ever since he walked through the doors in 2017.
His end product isn’t always there, but he played a very important role last season. With over 50 appearances in all competitions, only James Tavernier, Allan McGregor, and Connor Goldson featured in a higher percentage of fixtures.
With the likes of Ojo and Hastie gunning for his spot, it’s unlikely he’ll play quite so many games this time around.
However, he’s an excellent role model for the youngsters and is a favourite of Gerrard’s. If, as he says, he’s feeling fit and in form, there’ll likely be plenty of chances for him to impress going forward.
Meanwhile, via his cheeky dig, Candeias has suggested that running isn’t Morelos’ strong suit… The two are good pals within the camp, but it seems as far as fitness is concerned, the winger is a step ahead of the frontman just now.
