Rangers star Malik Tillman finds himself caught up in a controversial World Cup leak as the USA squad is unofficially revealed ahead of the tournament in Qatar.
The Bayern Munich loanee, 20, has apparently been called up to Gregg Berhalter’s 26-man squad for the controversial Middle East tournament but there is no place for fellow Stateside Ranger James Sands.
Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is also included in the squad with the USA set to face off against England, Wales and Iran in the group stages of the World Cup in Qatar.
According to the Daily Mail, the official roster for the USA’s squad at the tournament will be revealed later today but for the time being it has been leaked online.
Rangers star Malik Tillman in “leaked” USA squad boost
It’s a major boost for Rangers star Tillman who will get the opportunity to showcase his skills on the biggest stage of all at the unorthodox winter tournament.
Born in Germany and having played in the country’s youth set-up, Malik Tillman qualifies for the USA through one of his parents and was fast-tracked into the top team after switching allegiances.
It’s symbolic of how highly-rated the youngster is in the game with Rangers signing Tillman on an option-to-buy loan from FC Bayern in the summer.
According to club insiders Four Lads Had a Dream, Rangers may need to pay up to £5m to make the deal permanent with the Bundesliga Champions retaining a buy-back clause in any deal.

Malik Tillman has four caps for the USA national team and had also made the breakthrough at Bayern before joining Rangers, the kid making seven appearances for the club’s top team and scoring one goal.
In total, Tillman has made 21 appearances for Rangers, scoring three goals and laying on three assists.
Meanwhile, one highly-rated young English manager has been explaining a recent visit to Ibrox.
