Rangers captain James Tavernier has been included in the WhoScored Premiership Team of the Month for March following some outstanding displays.

The month has seen Rangers remain three points behind Celtic as the Ibrox side won two out of two matches in the Premiership and progressed in both the Scottish Cup and Europa League.

Tavernier has been one of the club’s finest players this season and his goals and assists have allowed the side to carry the nation in continental competition alongside remaining in the hunt for the league title.

With a score of 7.35, Tavernier is the only Rangers player included in the team as it is heavily dominated by Hearts, who have four players included.

With 12 goals and 15 assists this season alone, stats that any striker would love to have at this stage of the season, it’s no wonder he regularly gets weekly and monthly accolades.

He is fast becoming a Rangers legend and still only 30, he will surely be at the club for a few years yet. Hopefully, more trophies will follow, as captains are judged on their trophy hauls, Tavernier needs to inspire the Gers to end this season on a high.

With the club still in contention for three trophies, a hectic end-of-season schedule is approaching. The right-back will be hoping to add to his goals and assist tallies before then to ensure we have an excellent chance of success.

Hopefully, the side can end the season well and lift silverware of some sort, or dare I say it, a unique treble.

Meanwhile, Rangers star Scott Arfield could rue international decision as Canada qualify for the World Cup.
