Earlier this week, St Joseph’s FC of Gibraltar set up a Europa League First Round Qualifying tie against Rangers.
They defeated FC Prishtina of Kosovo to advance to QR1 for just the second time.
However, a potential fixture clash with fellow Gibraltarian club, Europa, has led to some confusion.
At one point on Wednesday afternoon, it seemed all of the first leg match details had been confirmed.

However, it seems Hendricks’ move to ‘confirm’ the details of the match were premature.
Instead, on Wednesday afternoon, Greg Marshall, Rangers’ Support Liason Officer, urged Bears not to book travel arrangements until UEFA give a verdict on the tie.
He had hoped that the governing body would make a ruling as soon as possible after that. Yet, in a further update yesterday evening, Marshall said there was still no confirmation. It now seems that the agreement made between the two clubs counts for nothing. We’re back to square one, waiting for the result of Europa’s match.
It all seems a bit pedantic from UEFA, who surely could have signed off on the Tuesday fixture regardless. In order to be sure, Bears will only be able to book their travel to Gibraltar a potential four days before the match.
