Rangers have a whole host of players out on loan at the minute.

The likes of Greg Docherty, Ryan Hardie and Zak Rudden have all impressed over the course of the season, while Jordan Rossiter, Jamie Barjonas, Andy Dallas and Robby McCrorie are just starting stints elsewhere.

One who has snuck under the radar of late, is Joe Dodoo.

The 23-year-0ld arrived at Ibrox in the summer of 2017, but has scored just three times in 20 appearances for the club.

After an unsuccessful stint at Charlton, he joined another League One side, Blackpool, on a season-long loan in the summer.

For a while, it looked as though he would really make a name for himself.

He scored four in four during a purple patch in November, two of which were spectacular scissor kicks.

Yet, it’s went downhill since then.

He scored just once in December, before picking up an injury at the beginning of 2019.

Ever since, he has been on the sidelines – missing over a month of action.

There was better news on Saturday afternoon, though, as made a cameo appearance in a 2-0 home win over Walsall.

Fit again, he will be looking to regain a starting berth and return his earlier season form.

Truth be told though, of all Rangers’ loanees, he is one who probably has the least chance of another shot at Ibrox.

His contract runs until 2020, but you get the impression he is far down the pecking order.

Morelos, Lafferty and Defoe are the three first team strikers at the minute, but three homegrown talents in Hardie, Rudden and Dallas are all knocking at the door for opportunities next season.
