But instead of signing on with French giants PSG or moving to Rangers, the young playmaker signed a deal with PSV and could now turn out at Ibrox on the opposite side.

“I think we will play against 12 men against Rangers on Tuesday,” said Simons [Daily Record].

“The atmosphere there is really incredible. Our job is to be focused. I expect a good match

“I have tried to do my best since I arrived and I hope I have contributed to our success. I was a substitute twice in the last round against Monaco and of course that is the manager’s decision.

“But I will try to take my chances whenever I am called upon. I want to enjoy my football. And I hope I have given the manager a difficult decision to make on Tuesday!

“I’ve enjoyed the way Dutch football is and I love a tackle even though I am small. Even when I was young, I was always the smallest. But that doesn’t mean you can’t win your battles. You have to have balls out there.”
