Premier Sports have announced plans to screen Rangers’ friendly with Sunderland in Portugal later in July.
The broadcaster will be screening the match live on July 9th as Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his charges prepare for the season ahead.
The game is set to take place at the 3500 capacity Estádio Municipal de Albufeira, with Rangers also getting a small supporter allocation for the match.
In a message sent to subscribers, the platform said:
“CONFIRMED: Rangers v Sunderland live on Premier Sports.
“We are delighted to confirm exclusive live coverage of Rangers’ summer friendly against newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday 9 July at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira.”
Rangers v Sunderland to be screened live on Premier Sports
Managed by Alex Neil, Sunderland will look forward to facing off against Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers side ahead of the new campaign.
Sunderland are a sleeping giant of English football and the Scottish coach will have ambitions to bring the Stadium of Light back to the Premier League.
Rangers will also be delighted to be heading out to the Algarve ahead of the new season for the training camp as the club’s players are put through their paces ahead of season 22/23.
But could one current Sunderland player be lining up for the Rangers side come the friendly?
The Gers have been extensively linked with a summer move for one of the club’s key players who fired the team to promotion with 26 goals last season.
However, claims suggesting Rangers could be set to sign the player as a replacement have been rubbished by an Ibrox-centric journalist.
