Rangers fans are angry with former manager Mark Warburton after an interview with the Daily Record was released today.
The Englishman claimed that creating a siege mentality can come across as paranoid. He also stated that expectations have to be realistic in what they can achieve this season.
Supporters weren’t happy with the former Nottingham Forest manager’s comments, and slammed him on Twitter for how he managed the side before his departure in 2017.
Here’s the best of what supporters had to say about the much-maligned Warburton:
Warburton who couldn’t even coach a team to defend a corner is offering Gerrard advice…… yeah 😂 https://t.co/5ZPeYLZIRx

Mark Warburton giving advice to our Mr Gerrard ? He gave up the right to talk about Rangers the day he walked away. #NoOneLikesUsWeDontCare

Made the mistake of reading Warburton’s interview. Narrative in Scotland is that we should almost be apologising for having ambition. Being content finishing second is why nobody else has won the league since the 80s. A country full of diddy clubs. Here’s to 55 in May 🍻

Can’t get my head round all the so called experts saying Rangers should be aiming for cementing second place, surely if that’s acceptable why not aim for top spot and if you don’t get that then seconds an “acceptable” finish. That’s why warburton couldn’t cut it 🖕

Warburton in Waitrose is even more of a riddy than Rodgers in the Clyde Tunnel because it's so pathetically small-time

Warburton says to avoid it. Barry Ferguson says to embrace the siege mentality. Wonder which one of the opposing views I'd support, failed manager or successful captain!!

Mark Warburton offering Gerrard managerial advice is like Michael Stewart offering Gerrard managerial advice.

I wont even lower myself to read that Warburton interview. The man who signed Hodson, a semi-retired Krancjar, Senderos, Forrester & O'Halloran doesnt deserve attention …

No offence to Warburton but Gerrard is a different animal altogether

Warburton led Rangers to the Scottish Championship title back in 2016, however suffered a rough period after promotion.
Despite signing a host of players, the Englishman’s Rangers struggled for consistency and were often on the end of some embarrassing defeats.
Many Rangers fans have since struggled to forgive Warburton after his controversial exit back in 2017.
Steven Gerrard’s side will continue their campaign with a home clash against St Mirren on Sunday.
