Rangers fans have responded to a major Ibrox announcement regarding the 2021/22 season.
The Gers have confirmed that Season Ticket renewals will open next week and that there will be no price increase.
The club shared the announcement on Twitter on Friday evening, with a link to a page that sets out four possible payment options: bank transfer, direct debit (four payments), premium credit (four-month plan or ten-month plan) or credit/debit card.
Rangers then subsequently posted explainer videos for those paying via direct debit or premium credit.
Many supporters have dug deep this season to purchase Virtual Season Tickets and MyGers memberships without getting to see a single game in the flesh and some were disappointed that there was no recognition of the ongoing challenges provided by Covid in the announcement, particularly given that there is, as yet, no guarantee that season ticket holders will be able to attend matches by the beginning of next season.

However, the majority of reactions were positive. Many praised the price freeze and expressed their intention to renew ASAP, regardless of the lack of information on the return of fans.
Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:

No fans will return to Ibrox prior to the end of the season, but limited numbers of supporters should be permitted at SPFL playoff matches after Scotland moves to Level 2 restrictions on 17th May.
Rangers’ director of commercial and marketing James Bisgrove stated on Friday that he hoped a ‘significant number’ of supporters would be able to return for a high-profile friendly against Arsenal on 17th July [Rangers.co.uk], which does seem plausible given that there are plans for 12,000 fans to attend Euro 2020 matches at Hampden in June.
