Rangers fans raved about centre-back George Edmundson who starred in the 1-0 win over Braga on Wednesday night.

Steven Gerrard made a big call pre-match to include the 22-year-old for his first Europa League outing at the expense of out of form Nikola Katic.

It was just the summer signing’s eleventh appearance in Light Blue and he certainly stood up to the challenge.

Braga showed they were a classy outfit last Thursday night at Ibrox, but their attacks were repelled time and time again by the Gers this time around.

Edmundson played a huge part in the defensive effort, showing maturity beyond his years.

He read the game well throughout, often tracking the play out to wide areas to snuff out danger. Alongside Connor Goldson, he was dominant in the air as clear cut chances were few and far between for the hosts.

There were a few nervy moments towards the end of the game, but Rangers eventually got over the line to secure a famous away win and progression to the last 16 courtesy of a 4-2 aggregate scoreline.

Plenty of Bears felt Edmundson deserved major praise and raved about the defender on social media.
