On Friday morning, there was some good news for two figures central to Rangers’ recent good form.
Steven Gerrard and Alfredo Morelos.
Both scooped up individual SPFL awards, with Gerrard taking home Manager of the Month for September and Morelos the Player of the Month award.
It was a period which began poorly for the Gers boss after a tactical gamble failed and Rangers lost 2-0 at home to Celtic.
However, he successfully rallied the troops to a near-flawless remainder of the month, guiding them to a 3-1 win over Livingston, a 4-0 win away at St Johnstone and a 5-0 hammering of Aberdeen at Ibrox. A 1-0 victory at the Toni Macaroni Arena, also saw them through to the semi-final of the League Cup.
For Morelos, it was a typically successful period. He only made a substitute appearance against Celtic, but he started and scored in all three other league fixtures in September.
Two worthy winners then, and the pair posed together with their respective awards at the Hummel Training Centre.
Yet, it wasn’t the picture of the pair together that Bears loved the most, but rather, a video later released by the Official Rangers Twitter, of Gerrard and El Bufalo congratulating each other.
