Rangers fans are rejoicing at the news that Ibrox Stadium will return to full capacity subject to Glasgow City Council conditions.
This means a full house of 50k supporters will be in place for the club’s visit of Swedish side Malmo FF in the Champions League third round of qualification.
“Rangers can confirm there will be a full capacity at Ibrox Stadium going forward, subject to conditions prescribed by the Safety Advisory Group of Glasgow City Council,” reads a Rangers statement.
“The ticket office will be in contact with season ticket holders today to confirm the process for ticket allocation for Tuesday’s match v Malmö.
“We cannot wait to hear you roaring, from the stands of Ibrox Park.”
This is a sizeable boost for Rangers in their hunt for Champions League qualification and the reported £40m riches which come with it.
Ibrox gaffer called on the Rangers fans after the club fell to a 2-1 defeat Malmo in Sweden and it looks like he’ll get his wish this coming Tuesday.
There will also be a full house of Ibrox supporters when Old Firm rivals Celtic come to visit at the end of the month (29/08) – the Gers’ next scheduled Scottish Premiership home game.
This will be a ginormous boost to the Ibrox team in the club’s hunt for 56 as the Champions prepare for a proper show of appreciation in the coming weeks.
Should a full house get in v Malmo it will be the first time 50k Rangers fans haver cheered on their team for nearly 17 months.
The last time the Gers fans packed into the ground was in March 2020 as the club fell to a 3-1 Europa League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
