Rangers fans have demanded that James Tavernier returns to penalty duties after Ianis Hagi failed with his first spot-kick for the club against Braga.
The January signing’s miss from 12 yards on the stroke of half-time in Portugal didn’t prove to be costly, with the Gers emerging 1-0 winners on the night, sealing a 4-2 aggregate victory.

However, failings from the spot are proving to be a real problem for the Gers this season.
Tavernier started with the responsibility but was replaced after missing three of his five early-season attempts.
His replacement, Alfredo Morelos, saw a crucial penalty saved in the League Cup final.
Jermain Defoe converted against Stranraer in January but sustained a serious injury a fortnight later, before Scott Arfield saw his initial effort saved at Hamilton.
Therefore, four separate takers have now missed as the search continues for a reliable option.
Borna Barisic has shown prowess from set-pieces, scoring twice from free-kicks earlier in the season, and surely must now come under strong consideration.
However, plenty of Bears want the skipper to be given another opportunity.

When Tavernier tweeted proudly following the win in Braga, fans implored him to get back on penalties for the foreseeable future.
