Rangers have announced a new four-year deal for Finnish international midfielder Glen Kamara putting an end to protracted contract talks.
The deal will see the midfielder’s pre-existing terms greatly improved after Glen has developed into a key player and influential character within the Ibrox dressing room since joining from Dundee in January 2019 for a reported £50k
The new contract also emboldens Rangers’ position when it comes to the ex-Arsenal Academy midfielder with Kamara extensively linked with a host of clubs south of the border.
It is believed that Kamara’s destiny lies in the top half of the English top-flight but at 25 there is still room for the player to develop at Ibrox.
This is part of the reason why the player has signed on the dotted line at Ibrox as Kamara admits it was an “easy decision” to commit his future to the Gers.
“I am delighted to have committed my long-term future to Rangers,” said Kamara [Rangers].
“I have absolutely loved my time here and being a part of the title-winning team last season has given me the hunger to try to win even more in the seasons ahead.
“It was an easy decision for me to sign and I want to thank the manager, Ross Wilson and the board for the faith they have shown in me.”

The news also comes just hours before Glen is set to take to the field against Livingston in the League Cup and it is sure to provide a boost to travelling supporters.
Kamara is widely respected by fans as one of the club’s most important players but he is also a fan favourite and one player they see going on to play at the highest possible level.
The news has helped settle nerves surrounding Kamara’s future amid the transfer interest south of the border and fans expressed their delight that the midfielder can now focus on the football:
