Rangers fans could return to Ibrox in two weeks time for the Premiership fixture against Dundee United, following the latest Joint Response Group update [Scottishfa.co.uk].
The last time Gers supporters took in a match at Ibrox was the first leg of the Europa League Last 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen in March.
However, in a statement released on Friday evening, the Joint Response Group confirmed that three Scottish Premiership pilot events could take place on the weekend of 12th September.
“This is a welcome and positive development for Scottish football, as the national sport, to build on the sporting pilot taking place at BT Murrayfield this evening,” said Joint Response Group chair, Rod Petrie, as quoted by Scottishfa.co.uk.
“We have already written to clubs to obtain their Return to Supporting plans specific to each stadium and will now follow-up with those clubs able to participate in the initial pilot on 12 September.”
SPFL CEO Neil Doncaster also welcomed the news, describing fans as ‘the lifeblood of our game’ and promising to liaise with clubs over the coming days.

Following this announcement, there’s a very real possibility that some fans could be taking in a match at Ibrox again in a fortnight.
The Gers are currently scheduled to take on Dundee United at home in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 12 September, meaning they will likely be one of six clubs competing to host the three pilot events.
The other Premiership teams playing at home that weekend are Aberdeen, Ross County, St Mirren, Motherwell and Livingston.
Theoretically, given the sheer size of the stadium, it should be relatively easy to socially distance supporters at Ibrox.
However, it’s now up to the club to draw up and put forward a quality proposal which will guarantee that, should they be awarded one of the events, all protocols will be adhered to.
