The Lowland League hopes of Rangers B take a dent as Edinburgh equivalents Hearts edge out a five goal thriller in Dumbarton.
Hearts ran out 3-2 winners at the Dumbarton Football Stadium following a first half collapse from the Rangers B team with goals from Mackenzie Kirk, Luke Rathie and Bobby McLuckie firing the visitors into a three goal lead.
Arron Lyall and Ross McCausland would then haul Rangers B back into the match in the second half but it wasn’t enough as the team fell to their fourth Lowland League defeat of the season.

Rangers suffer Lowland League blow v Hearts
The result means Rangers B remain top of the Lowland League, with the club one point ahead of Tranent Juniors having played a game less.
But the defeat will offer hope to the rest of the teams around Rangers as the Ibrox youngsters hope to edge out what would be a magnificent achievement in what is effectively the fifth tier of Scottish football.
Rangers provide a colt team for the division alongside the likes of Celtic – who sit 4th, six points behind Rangers with a game in hand – and Hearts – who sit 13th, 21 points off the top.
The result certainly comes as a surprise for Rangers who have been the standout team in the division all season long but perhaps the young Bears’ Lowland League success is coming at a cost.
Several young players who’ve turned out in the division this season, from Adam Devine to Alex Lowry, are now firmly in the first team.
It’s what the Lowland League journey if for and if Rangers B continue to impress then there will be young players who make the leap to the first team.
Even if this comes at the cost of success at this level as Rangers look to develop the next generation of talent at Ibrox.
Meanwhile, one Rangers star has sent an ominous post-World Cup fitness message.
