Rangers announced on Monday evening, that Club 1872 have become the official partner of the club’s Football Department.
The press release refers to the agreement as a ‘unique new partnership’ with the fan-led shareholder group.
In return for the sponsorship, it’s stated that Club 1872 members will receive greater access to the club through Q+A events with staff from all areas of the football department, i.e the first-team, Academy and the Women’s team.
“We’re grateful for the support of Club 1872 towards the Football Department and are looking forward to participating in their members events throughout the season,” Sporting Director, Ross Wilson, told Rangers.co.uk.
“It is also an exciting time to be involved with the Rangers Women’s team and Club 1872 will play an important role in their growth and success in the years ahead.”
Laura Fawkes, a Club 1872 director, said that the organisation were ‘very pleased’ to secure the partnership and asserted that the promised events would bring members closer to the club.

Verdict
A lot of off-field work has been done in recent months as the club seeks to continue to strengthen.
From the popular trans-Atlantic partnership with Orange County SC to smaller-scale commercial deals such as the Molton Brown fragrance partnership, announced last week.
This latest deal is particularly exciting because as well as the resultant funding being used to aid the football department, there’s a real chance that fans themselves could experience tangible benefits.
Q+A events should allow supporters to gain a much better understanding of the inner workings of the club’s footballing operations, thus strengthening their affinity further.
If the events are successful, the carrot of direct access to Rangers may also lead to substantial increases in Club 1872 membership.
