Rangers have today announced that an interim management team will be put in place as the wait for a new manager goes on.
The four-man team will comprise Jermain Defoe, David McCallum, Brian Gilmour, and Colin Stewart and they will take control of first-team affairs until a new manager is appointed.
David McCallum is the current manager of Rangers B team with Brian Gilmour his assistant. They currently sit third in the Lowland League table.

Colin Stewart is the current first team goalkeeping coach, and he has been called in to help alongside the other three.
Jermain Defoe is just taking his first steps onto the coaching ladder so this could well be an excellent opportunity for him. His playing opportunities have been extremely limited this season, with only one brief appearance in the defeat to Dundee United.
This experience could be vital for Defoe and regardless of who comes in as manager, he should remain in some sort of coaching capacity.
The search for a new manager continues and with Giovanni van Bronckhorst having held positive talks with the club, a new appointment may be closer than we think.

Whoever is appointed as the successor to Steven Gerrard will be bringing their own backroom staff to the club.
Whatever happens until then, the Ibrox side is in safe hands with the current interim management team.
In other news, former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wanted to sign Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet in the summer.
