On Friday afternoon, Rangers announced the signing of Andy Firth.
The 22-year-old arrives on an 18-month deal from fifth tier English side, AFC Barrow.
In terms of senior experience, he has only ever featured in National League footaball.

To say the move was a bit of a shock, would be an understatement.
He started his career in the Liverpool youth setup and hence, has worked with Steven Gerrard before, in his capacity as head of the club’s Academy.
“It’s been a long couple of days while it’s all been in the pipeline, but I’m just delighted to a club of this stature. It really is a dream come true.”
He then went on to reveal just how deep his connection is with some key figures already at the club.
“I grew up in the same youth team as Ryan Kent and Jordan Rossiter, so i’ve played with them since I was ten. I’ve also worked with Michael Beale. He was my U16 and Reserves manager”, Firth explained.
“We worked it out last night – there is seven staff I know and three players i’ve worked with before. Thankfully, that’ll be a big thing moving away from Liverpool.”

Clearly, Firth is buzzing with the move and why wouldn’t he be?
One week he’s playing non-league football in a 1000-seater stadium.
The next, he could be straight in as back-up keeper, in front of 50,000 at Ibrox.
