Michael Beale the Rangers hero or villain – Four Lads

With Ross Wilson gone, Michael Beale is the man in charge at Rangers in more ways than one.

In an almost throwback model, the Gers gaffer is front and centre this summer as he sets out a rebuild plan to get his club back on top.

Michael Beale is confident that he is the right man for the job but, writing for the Rangers Review, Stevie Clifford of the Four Lads Had a Dream blog, has a warning for the boss.

Michael Beale shoulders Rangers recruitment responsibility

So far in this transfer window three new faces have been signed.

What we have also learned, since January, is how big a role Beale plays in persuading players to join Rangers.

Nicolas Raskin, Todd Cantwell, Jack Butland and now Sam Lammers have all praised Michael Beale’s influence in their decision to join Rangers.

And, according to Clifford, there will be one man taking the credit or one man taking the blame, depending on how the season pans out:

“Make no mistake, this is Beale’s summer and he will run with it exactly how he sees fit.

The manager is the driver behind recruitment and new signings are clearly his.

He’s making big decisions and, rightly, will be held accountable for each new arrival’s success or failure.”

Beale will be faced with a new manager in the opposite dugout for Old Fiirm derbies so it will be a different threat from across the city.

Celtic don’t need a lot of work doing to them but if Brendan Rodgers is the man to replace Ange Postecoglu, you can bet that his ego won’t allow him to not tinker with a successful system and style of play.

Michael Beale, with an attacking Rangers team, has to be ready to go from day one, praise or pressure?

Results will decide.
