Lee McCulloch has hailed Alfredo Morelos in his latest Glasgow Evening Times column.
The Colombian striker has polarised opinion across the country this season.

However, one fact can’t be denied. He’s excelled in front of goal.
At Rugby Park on Sunday, he reached 100 career strikes, a feat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic hadn’t managed by age 22.
His emphatic finish against Killie was also his 30th of the season in all competitions. He’s the first Gers forward to reach that milestone since Kris Boyd. Therefore, McCulloch believes he deserves big credit for a ‘tremendous achievement.’

“A lot of people pick up on the negatives of his disciplinary record and his attitude, but I like to focus on the positives in terms of his performances and his goals and you can’t deny how important a player he has been for Rangers,” he wrote in the Glasgow Evening Times.
“To get to 30 goals is a real achievement, especially when he is in a team that haven’t won anything. He has been brilliant and he is only going to get better as well.
“It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer and whether Rangers try to hold on to him or sell him on if they get a substantial bid for him. We will wait and see.”

Verdict
A lot of the focus has been on Morelos’ ill-discipline this season. There’s no doubt he’s really let the side down at times.
However, without his goals, the Gers would have been in big trouble at various points of the season.
While he won’t be going to the Copa America [Sky Sports], he does have the inaugural Tartan Ball to show for his efforts.
