Rangers centre-back Nikola Katic has stated he’s always learning from both Connor Goldson and Jon Flanagan.

The new-look Gers back-line has earned rave reviews after a storming start to their Ibrox careers that’s seen them ship just two goals in seven outings under new-man Steven Gerrard.

Katic has been one of the standouts in the defence since arriving in the summer from Slaven Belupo, amid interest from Russian giants Spartak Moscow.

And the 21-year-old, whose had less than 80 career first-team appearances to date, has stated that he’s always learning from the likes of Goldson and Flanagan who are experienced pros.

It is important and they have both really helped me. Connor has a lot of experience and he is always giving me instructions, trying to make life easier for me. He also speaks with me off the park all of the time

Katic is one of 11 summer signings that Gerrard has brought into the club after a previous campaign of defensive blunders under Pedro Caixinha of Graeme Murty.

There seems a genuine reason to start getting excited about Rangers as they continue to look more and more solid at the back with each game.

Gerrard’s side will be looking to gain another shut-out when they face NK Maribor tonight in the first leg of their Europa League third-qualifying round tie at Ibrox.
