Rangers captain James Tavernier and teammate Malik Tillman have been named as the only Ibrox entries in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.
The PFA Scotland Team of the Year is voted for by fellow professionals, so is in many ways the most coveted of all the awards doled out at the end of the season.
Rangers captain James Tavernier is the only non-Celtic representative in the back five, with Joe Hart between the sticks and Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and Greg Taylor completing the defence.
Bayern Munich loanee Malik Tillman is then named in midfield alongside another Celtic pair in Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate, whilst the face no Gers players are named up front is a damning indictment of a woeful season.
Aberdeen star Duk – who was at the centre of red card controversy at Ibrox over the weekend – and Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen – who has been linked to Rangers – partner Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi in the team.
Rangers fluff PFA Scotland Team of the Year
That means the Parkhead side have a whopping seven players in the line up compared to Rangers’ two and it’s a telling outcome from a season where the Ibrox side have failed to compete.
Heads have begun to roll at Ibrox off the back of a woeful campaign that has seen the club’s team brought to the point of dismantling.
Rangers’ squad management over the last few seasons has been a stuttering embarrassment and going into the next campaign the club’s supporters can expect better.

The Ibrox side have meekly surrendered all three domestic trophies to their Old Firm rivals, with the inclusion of the Celtic stars undoubtedly merited after yet another successful campaign at Parkhead.
Likewise, James Tavernier and Malik Tillman have probably been the club’s best performers in the Premiership this season and across the campaign have bagged 29 goals between them in all competitions.
A big summer is ahead, and whilst it is not definitive, if it is successful for Rangers the club will likely have more players in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year next season.
