Hibernian have issued an official statement on their website confirming the return of Glenn Middleton to Rangers.
The 19-year-old winger joined the Hibees on what was due to be a season-long loan deal back in August.

While the transfer wasn’t well-received by some Bears given the rivalry between the two clubs, it was hoped that Middleton would develop his game in Edinburgh with the help of regular playing time.
However, things didn’t work out that way.
The Scotland U21 international featured semi-regularly from the bench under Paul Heckingbottom, but when the Englishman was sacked and replaced by Jack Ross, he slipped out of the picture entirely. His return to Ibrox follows a run of nine consecutive exclusions from matchday squads.
‘Hibernian can confirm that Glenn Middleton’s loan from Rangers has been cut short,’ read a statement on Hibernianfc.co.uk.
‘Brought in as an option out wide following the loss of Martin Boyle to injury, the Australian international’s return to fitness and top form ahead of schedule has limited Glenn’s first-team involvement of late.
‘He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Easter Road.’
Elsewhere in the statement, it’s confirmed that despite returning before the January transfer window, Middleton is immediately available for selection.
However, given that only the trip to Parkhead remains before the winter break, we’ll not be seeing the winger in a Gers shirt again for some time yet.
