Rangers captain, James Tavernier, has divided opinion amongst Rangers fans this season.
The 27-year-old has barely missed a minute in all competitions. Yet, he has come in for criticism in recent weeks as his delivery from wide areas dropped in quality.
Before the Old Firm at the weekend, he had been involved in a third of the Gers’ league goals.
Six goals and eight assists are outstanding figures for a right-back.
As he took to Twitter to wish his followers a Happy New Year, Rangers fans had some motivational words for the skipper.
You will be the Captain that lifts Glasgow Rangers' 116th major trophy in 2019. Keep Believing.
Happy New Year Skipper 🇬🇧💙

There’s certainly a common theme throughout the messages. Silverware.
In particular, Rangers’ 55th top flight Scottish title.
The challenge ahead is a big one for Tavernier. He and his teammates are looking to overturn years of dominance by their Old Firm rivals, but after Saturday’s result, it’s clear that both the players and the fans believe once again.
After a week or two of well earned rest, the hard work will begin once again.
