Premier League Wolves have asked QPR for permission to speak to their manager and former Rangers coach Michael Beale about taking over at Molineux.
The former Chelsea, Liverpool and Sao Paolo coach is in his first management role at Loftus Road and his early success has seen 42-year-old guide the club to 6th in the Championship.
Amongst many Rangers fans, he is there is preferred candidate to take over at Ibrox if and when Giovanni van Bronckhorst leaves the club with the latest news shattering the dreams of plenty.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves have approached QPR for permission to speak to Michael Beale about the vacant managerial position at the club following the departure of Bruno Lage.
Currently languishing in 17th and only a point above the relegation zone, Michael Beale would be tasked with turning things around at Wolves with the team strewn with plenty of talent.
Included in that is several Portuguese players and given Beale’s time in Brazil, any residual knowledge of the language may come in handy in this situation.

The news comes on the day that QPR are set to play Cardiff at Loftus Road and comes after a 3-1 defeat away to Luton Town at the weekend ended a run of three straight victories.
Michael Beale was the assistant coach of Steven Gerrard during the Scouser’s time at Rangers and even left with the coaching staff when Aston Villa came calling last season.
Beale was often viewed as the brains behind the Rangers operation with Gerrard the leader and it was a combination which worked for the Gers as the club lifted 55.
Michael Beale has also not been shy when talking about his desire for a potential return to Rangers in the future but for now it looks like QPR will do well to hold on to him amid interest from Wolves.
Interestingly, these links come at the same time that the pressure is mounting on the person who brought Beale to Ibrox.
