Ex-Rangers star Dominic Ball has tipped former Gers captain Lee Wallace to make an extraordinary Ibrox return as the club closes in on QPR boss Michael Beale.
The latest reports are suggesting that Rangers have been given permission to speak with Michael Beale about the vacant Ibrox permission following the sacking of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

This would see Beale – in his first role as a manager at QPR – return to the club where he served as Steven Gerrard’s assistant coach for a period of four years.
Despite the fact Michael Beale has always been open about his love of Rangers and desire to return one day, there has been some kickback down south after the manager turned down an approach from Wolves earlier in the season.
But according to the likes of Sky Sports, a deal is expected to be negotiated after QPR gave the manager permission to speak with Rangers.
Dominic Ball tips Lee Wallace to return to Rangers with Michael Beale
Dominic Ball, who joined Rangers on loan from QPR during the tenure of Mark Warburton, has tipped Lee Wallace to be involved in a sensational Ibrox return for the former Gers skipper.
Lee Wallace famously stuck by Rangers during the club’s darkest hour but the former left-back’s time at Ibrox ended on a sour note following a series of injuries and a bust-up with caretaker manager Graeme Murty.
Nonetheless, Dominic Ball has tipped the coach to return to Ibrox in a coaching capacity and urged Rangers and Michael Beale to consider a move.
“Lee spoke very highly of Michael Beale and Lee is someone whose opinion I really respect,” said Dominic Ball [Daily Record].
“Lee would be a great shout if Michael is looking for someone who knows the club to join his backroom staff. I can’t speak highly enough of Lee. I still speak to him now. I know he’s taking some time to study the game. I know he’d go in there and give everything he’s got trying to help Rangers be as good as they can be.”
Rangers are yet to announce anything official regarding Michael Beale or anyone else but we’re sure as this week progresses the club’s plan to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst will become clearer.
Meanwhile, the QPR chairman doesn’t exactly appear to be taking the news well.
