Fans of Swedish club Helsingborgs IF – for whom Celtic legend Henrik Larsson once played – send their best to Rangers Ultras the Union Bears on their 15th anniversary.
The Swedish club’s fiercest supporters appear to have struck up a relationship with the Rangers fan group and they unveiled a banner congratulating the Union Bears on making it to 2022.
Helsingborgs IF are a Swedish club and Rangers enjoy a host of link ups across Europe – not least with HSV in Germany – and this appears to be the latest amongst supporters.
Rangers fans link up with former Henrik Larsson club Helsingborgs
The link-up is made especially more interesting by the fact that Helsingborgs IF are the former club of Celtic legend Henrik Larsson.
Whilst former Swedish international Henrik Larsson started his career at Hogaborgs BK, the forward spent a season at Helsingborgs before moving to the Netherlands and Feyenoord.
Larsson would then return to Helsingborgs in the twilight of his career, even spending a short stint on loan at Man United during another three year spell with the Swedish club.
The former Barcelona striker has also managed Helsingborgs on two occasions, whilst his son Jordan also spent two years at the club earlier in his career.

Given Henrik Larsson’s standing at Celtic, it makes the link between Rangers and HIF all the more interesting.
But it’s clear our former Old Firm rival doesn’t have much of a connection with the Swedish club now, after he left his management role due to fans forcibly removing Jordan Larsson’s shirt following a relegation in 2016 [Guardian].
Remarkably, Larsson returned to manage the club three years later in 2019, but lasted only a few months due to online abuse from fans.
Whilst Henrik Larsson retains a legendary legacy at Celtic, he is not perhaps viewed so positively at his former club Helsingborgs and now they’ve teamed up with Rangers fans it suggest there’s little feeling surrounding their former player and manager.
Meanwhile, Rangers are now dangerously short in a key position following the latest injury update.
