Dutch commentary makes Rangers star’s wonder goal even better

Dutch commentary of the Malik Tillman wonder goal v Rangers puts Andy Walker and Sky Sports to shame as the Bayern loanee makes waves in Europe.

The stunning strike saw the 20-year-old German-born USA international dribble from his own half past several Motherwell defenders before slotting the ball past Liam Kelly.

But in Sky Sports’ coverage of the stunning goal you’d have forgiven Andy Walker from falling asleep as many Gers fans felt the ex-Celtic striker was a tad underwhelmed.

We wonder why.

But if you want to hear some proper appreciation for what was a superb Malik Tillman goal then tune into the Dutch coverage, as the commentator loses it to the Rangers star’s worldie.

It was a stunning solo effort and shows the quality that Malik Tillman can offer the Rangers team when he’s on his game.

The attacking midfielder spoke to Sky Sports after the game and the USA international was particularly modest when quizzed on the goal.

“It is nice to help the team to get the win, the team always comes first,” said Tillman [Sky Sports].

“The last few weeks were a bit tough, we didn’t win in the Champions League but yeah I think it’s an extreme boost for me we’ve got to keep looking forward and hope we win the next few games as well.”

Rangers defeated Motherwell 2-1 courtesy of that Malik Tillman stunner and a headed goal from John Lundstram as the Gers overcame heavy pressure to cut the gap back to two points.

Next up for Rangers is the visit of Dundee in the League Cup before the club hosts Livingston at Ibrox next Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.

Meanwhile, a clip from Sky Sports’ coverage of the game appears to show another key Rangers player carrying an injury for the side.
