Club 1872 have issued an update following ‘very productive’ discussions with Rangers’ new kit and retail supplier, Castore.
The supporter’s group released a statement on Sunday afternoon, just a few hours after the Gers officially announced the up and coming English brand as the club’s new partners from the start of the 2020/21 season.
Echoing the sentiments expressed by various Rangers executives such as James Bisgrove, John Bennett and Stewart Robertson, the release spoke glowingly of Castore and the potential of the new partnership.
The group held talks with brand co-founder, Tom Beahon, who laid out the plans to ‘produce a retail and kit offering that we can be proud of and to rebuild supporter confidence in the retail operations of the club.’

‘We were very encouraged by Castore’s attitude not only towards their partnership with Rangers but also their willingness to work with the Rangers support and deliver quality service through improved presence at Ibrox Stadium and online,’ continued the statement [Club1872.co.uk].
‘Club 1872 has agreed to work closely with Castore on their fan engagement activities throughout the coming season and beyond and we look forward to that commencing as soon as is practical under the current circumstances.’
In conclusion, it’s asserted that the deal has the potential to deliver ‘huge’ benefits to both the fanbase and the club over the coming years.
Verdict
All the noises coming out of Ibrox about this new partnership are extremely positive and it’s apparent that co-founder Tom Beahon has also convinced Club 1872 that this is a new dawn for Rangers retail.
Legal battles and unfulfilled contracts have dogged the Gers over the last number of years meaning that vast amounts of potential revenue has been lost.
Now though, Rangers appear to have finally wrested back control and have secured a very lucrative agreement [Rangers Football Club YouTube].
To the disappointment of some fans, the new kits haven’t yet been revealed, but with the Castore founders set to speak to fan media in the coming days, more details may emerge about the specifics behind the deal.
