Rangers lack of creativity that saw the end of Michael Beale’s was a systemic one, however, Todd Cantwell being unavailable hasn’t helped either.
The January signing hasn’t quite rediscovered the form that he showed last season but he is one of the only players in the squad who can carry the ball and beat an opposition defender.
With a new Rangers manager in Philippe Clement, Todd Cantwell has some good news for the Belgian as revealed via The Beautiful Game Podcast.

Rangers given Todd Cantwell boost ahead of Clement bow
Signed for a reported £1.5m, the 25-year old has been a good value signing but the next stage of his time at Ibrox has to be playing a key role in closing the gap at the top and winning trophies.
When asked what the timescale is for his return, he said:
“The plan is definitely to be back after the international break.
“It’s not been as smooth as I’d have liked and I can’t make any promises but the plan is to be back and fit for the Hibs game.”
It’s amazing to think that Rangers have been missing Todd Cantwell because of a crude barge from Daizen Maeda that went unpunished when a penalty looked like the most obvious decision.

With Danilo also set to return, the forward line could look a lot stronger with the bench also likely to have more depth and more options for the manager.
Clement has a reputation for attacking football, having Cantwell available will make this task an awful lot easier.
It’s a new dawn for Rangers, and Todd Cantwell should be the player that leads us into an era that needs to be a lot more successful than the last decade has been.
