Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has uploaded images of himself working out in the gym on Instagram as he responds to ominous comments from manager Michael Beale.

There is much conjecture surrounding the Ibrox future of the Colombian striker, 26, who is out of contract come to the end of the season.

Whilst reports of a pre-contract being signed with Sevilla appear wide of the mark, the striker was warned by Michael Beale after the weekend’s Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers.

The Ibrox manager has been clear that he would like to resign Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent on new contracts, but there is some doubt regarding a new deal for Alfredo Morelos.

The striker is on high wages and has consistently been a distraction for the side, failing to deliver when the club need him most and now on the precipice at Ibrox.

Michael Beale demands more from Alfie

Rangers boss Beale has demanded more “energy” from the forward with all the sounds suggesting it is increasingly unlikely the forward will be at Ibrox next season.

“Alfredo’s situation is slightly different,” said Beale [Viaplay].

“He has been at the club for a long time and I need to see a little bit more from Alfredo day in, day out.

“When he’s played when the team has needed him, he’s fine – but I want a bit more energy in the final third.

“Can he provide that? If he can then he’s a better option than what he has been the last few months. Everything I’m saying here has been said to him as well.”

Alfredo Morelos sends Instagram message

Alfredo Morelos currently finds himself out of the Rangers team and the forward appeared to respond to pressure from Michael Beale via his Instagram stories.

Uploading video clips of himself doing extra work in the gym outside of the Rangers Training Centre, the message appears to have been heard loud and clear.

Rangers fans will be hoping that they begin to see more of a lean looking Alfredo Morelos following the Instagram clips but they will not hold their breath over a new deal.

El Bufalo has always shown form in spurts at Ibrox and has never proven an ability to be consistent over the course of a campaign and even the bulk of supporters are leaning towards summer change.

Meanwhile, one Sky Sports journalist has made an Alfredo Morelos exit claim.
