Alfredo Morelos took to Instagram earlier this week to launch a new charitable venture.
The Alfredo Morelos Foundation has been set up in his hometown of Cerete, in Colombia and is an attempt to give back to the community.
The 23-year-old comes from humble beginnings in a town with a population of around 60,000, from which he moved to Medellin to kick-start his professional career.
Next, he earned a switch to the Veikkausliiga with HJK Helsinki, before signing for Rangers in 2017 for a reported £1 million [Scottish Sun].

“It is a privilege for me to open this wonderful foundation where the children of Cerete will be able to fulfil their dreams as well as I did in my childhood,” wrote Morelos on his Instagram [translated].
“If you can believe it, you can achieve it. I am proud to be a mediator of this project and be a reference to this beautiful project that will help many people and will bring out great talents from my land.”

El Buffalo is a controversial figure in Scottish football, who was subject to much negative media coverage last year as a result of his ill-discipline on the pitch [National].
He appears to have cleaned up his act on the park, though, and this is a classy gesture off of it.
It can be easy for stars on thousands of pounds a week to forget about their roots, but clearly, Morelos isn’t one of those players.
The three-times capped Colombian international is keen to help others reach stardom and is prepared to put some of his own earnings towards helping others. For that, he deserves plenty of credit.
