What's happening with Joe Dodoo at Rangers?

Over the last week or two, there has been plenty of talk about a streamlining of the Rangers squad.
When the first team headed to the Algarve the likes of Graham Dorrans, Jordan Rossiter, Jason Holt, Ryan Hardie, and Eros Grezda were all absent.

As that trip came to an end, Steven Gerrard admitted further trimming would yet take place [RangersTV].
Since then,
Robby McCrorie has departed on loan, while his brother Ross, is reportedly a loan target for both Shrewsbury and Portsmouth [Scottish Sun].
However, one player has snuck under the radar in all of this – Joe Dodoo.
The 24-year-old forward is contracted with the Gers until the end of next season. Yet, he didn’t travel to Portugal and he hasn’t been spotted at Auchenhowie, either. That’s despite his stint at Blackpool finishing in May.

He hasn’t secured a move elsewhere, nor has there been any real transfer speculation involving him.
Clearly, he still doesn’t feature in Steven Gerrard’s plans. His lack of involvement in pre-season tells us that.
Yet, as of now, we have to assume that the club is still paying his wages. Considering he joined the Gers from Premier League side Leicester City on a four-year deal [
BBC Sport], it’s likely he’s collecting a tidy sum, too.
With that in mind, the club must look to offload him sooner rather than later.

He scored six times in 25 appearances for Blackpool last season [Soccerbase], which was unremarkable but not disastrous. During a run of four goals in four games during November, he proved he knows where the goal is. Surely there’s a club out there willing to move for him?
Dodoo is currently valued at £225k by Transfermarkt. It would be optimistic to suggest the Gers would get that much for him. Regardless though, if there’s a clearout taking place, surely he should be joining those heading for the exit.
