Joe Dodoo is one of many Rangers players currently out on loan in the English Football League.

The forward signed for the Gers from Leicester on a four-year deal in 2016 and featured regularly from the bench in his first season.

However, since then, he hasn’t been part of the plans and has been sent elsewhere.

A stint at Charlton in 2017 was underwhelming. This season, he was shipped off to Blackpool, and back in November, it looked as though he might finally be pressing a case for an Ibrox opportunity.

He scored four goals in four matches in all competitions, including a brace against Accrington in the Football League trophy.

That scoring ratio was to be short-lived, though, with injury and poor form soon creeping in.

Dodoo has only netted once since then, against non-league Solihull Moors in the FA Cup.

Overall, he has just two goals 18 League One appearances. It’s a really disappointing return.

With just a year remaining on his Ibrox contract, it seems highly unlikely that he will ever turn out for Rangers again.

With Alfredo Morelos, Kyle Lafferty, Jermain Defoe, Zak Rudden and Ryan Hardie, there are simply too many attackers ahead of him in the pecking order.

The 23-year-old is valued at £225k by Transfermarkt and you have to think Rangers would be delighted to get that for him.

The question is, after injury problems and a lack of goals, will anyone be willing to pay it?
