Rangers fans have been praising talismanic striker Alfredo Morelos as his 100th strike for the club sent the Ibrox side three points clear in the Scottish Premiership in a 2-1 win over St Mirren.

The Gers had to fight for the points in Paisley as St Mirren came out the blocks on home soil and played some quality football which had the Gers a tad shellshocked in the opening 15 minutes.

Not even five minutes into proceedings Connor Ronan had fired St Mirren into the lead with a 30-yard stunner which somewhat symbolised the brave nature of the Buddies’ early play.

Replays somewhat absolved Jon McLaughlin and it was a stunning strike from Ronan but from that point on fingernails were frayed amongst the Rangers support.

The Gers huffed and puffed to find a way back into the match and deserve credit for doing so, with Ianis Hagi winning a stonewall penalty after an Alan Power foul following a period of sustained pressure.

Kemar Roofe would hammer it home with expert precision to get the Ibrox side level with Gers fans breathing a sight of relief right before the restart.

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos kicks off the Paisley party with 100th goal

But barely a minute later the Gers would find themselves in front courtesy of Alfredo Morelos who netted his long-awaited 100th goal for Rangers.

Finding himself free in the six-yard box, a cross from James Tavernier evaded the St Mirren backline and Morelos would finish it off his face.

The Colombian then went wild as El Bufalo celebrated with the Rangers support and Ibrox fans have been paying tribute to the striker in the aftermath of the game.

But whilst plenty of fans have been congratulating the striker for the feat, others have been wondering how his wife Yesenia is going to celebrate.

Famous for throwing balloon parties for the striker, fans are wondering if Mrs Morelos might have something planned in this regard tonight:

The result could well prove to be a very important one in the Scottish Premiership title race and Rangers fans will enjoy extending their lead at the top of the table this weekend.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard also explained why a key Ibrox star had been dropped for the clash against St Mirren in his pre-match interview.
