On Wednesday, The Scottish Sun reported interest from Apollon Limassol in Kyle Lafferty.
Since then, things have developed quickly and it’s now said the Northern Irishman is meeting with the club this weekend to discuss his future [FourFourTwo].

If he does depart, it would reduce the number of strikers at Steven Gerrard’s disposal.
There are question marks about whether or not Alfredo Morelos will remain at the club. But, for now, the Colombian is a Rangers player, while Jermain Defoe has another 12 months remaining on his loan from Bournemouth.
However, there are also two forwards coming back from loan duty. Ryan Hardie and Zak Rudden.
Hardie fared reasonably on loan at Livingston this season, but based on comments made by Gerrard a few months ago, Rudden could be first in line to benefit from an opening in the squad.

In an interview with RangersTV, the manager heaped praise on the 19-year-old. He claimed to admire the youngster’s work ethic and ambition, saying he sees ‘a future here for Zak’.

There will be a temptation for Gerrard to reinvest whatever fee he gets from the sale of Lafferty, into bringing in a proven replacement from elsewhere.
Surely, though, Rudden deserves a go next season. After a stellar year away from Ibrox, he should be next in line.
