No news looks like bad news for Rangers' Graham Dorrans

Graham Dorrans joined Rangers for a reported fee of £1.5 million, back in 2017.
At the time, he looked a really astute signing.
With bags of Premier League experience he seemed certain to add both quality and leadership to the midfield ranks.

However, it simply hasn’t worked out so far.
Injuries have cropped up like never before in his career. Serious ones too.
He picked up the latest back in September and hasn’t been seen since.

Despite the knee problem requiring surgery, he was fully expected to return before the end of the season.
It was winger, Jamie Murphy, after picking up knee ligament damage against Kilmarnock, who looked unlikely to see further action this campaign.

Yet, now, it seems Murphy is the more likely to feature before the summer.
Steven Gerrard confirmed during a press conference last week, that the ex-Brighton man is on track to be available for the final few matches.
On the other hand, Dorrans was conspicuously absent from the manager’s update.
In fact, there’s been no further information, since he suffered a rehab setback in mid-February.

The extent of the problem wasn’t elaborated on at the time, but the lack of a further update is unlikely to be good news.

Should he fail to return, that will be just 23 appearances in two seasons at Ibrox.
It’s disappointing for all concerned. Hopefully he will be fit and available to play a much bigger role, by next campaign.
