Charlie Miller has spoken to the Glasgow Evening Times about Steven Gerrard’s current crop of midfielders.
The 43-year-old won multiple Scottish league titles during a six-year stint at Ibrox between 1993 and 1999.

The rise of Barry Ferguson was part of the reasoning behind his eventual demise and he believes several players will need to leave Ibrox this summer in order to balance the books.
“I think he (Gerrard) will have to free up some cash by getting rid of a few or sending them out on loan,” Miller told the Glasgow Evening Times.
“Greg Docherty and Jordan Rossiter both did well last season when they went down south. They will have benefitted from playing regular football every week. But, will there be a place for them next season?
“Dorrans is another player we have forgotten about. He has been unlucky with injury and if he is back to his best then I would definitely keep him.”

Verdict
The future is uncertain for all three of the midfielders mentioned here by Miller, but for different reasons.
As things stand, Greg Docherty appears to be the only one still in with a shot of making it at Ibrox.
He scored in the friendly win over Mansfield Town in Portugal and started Wednesday’s game against TNS.
As for Rossiter and Dorrans, they look to be heading for a permanent exit. The only real uncertainty is where they will end up next.
Neither player made the plane to the Algarve and neither featured against TNS. It seems that for now, this pair, and Jason Holt, will be those on the wrong side of a midfield cull.
