Back in June, the Scottish Sun reported that Jason Holt looked set to leave Ibrox for QPR.
Former Gers boss Mark Warburton was said to be interested and after the midfielder was excluded from the pre-season training trip to Portugal, it was clear he was surplus to requirements at Rangers.

Holt hasn’t made a competitive appearance for the club since the arrival of Steven Gerrard.
He spent last season on loan at Fleetwood Town in EFL League One, under former teammate Joey Barton. However, despite racking up 36 appearances for the Trawlermen [Soccerbase], he’s dropped further down the pecking order in Glasgow.
The likes of Glen Kamara, Steven Davis and Joe Aribo have been added to the squad with options abounding in midfield.
There’s no way back in for the 26-year-old, but the proposed transfer to QPR looks increasingly unlikely.

There have been no follow up reports in recent times, with the 8th August Championship transfer deadline looming.
If Fleetwood or another League One side were eyeing him up though, they have more time. Clubs in the third and fourth tiers of the EFL can sign players up until 2nd September [
His time may be up at Rangers, but he gave his all every time he pulled on the shirt, so hopefully, he seals a good move before the summer is out.
