In the final days of the January transfer window, Matt Polster completed his move to Rangers and Gordon Forrest has told the Scottish Sun why he believes he will be successful.
He joined the club on a free, signing a two-and-a-half year deal at Ibrox
The 25-year-old is a full USA international, who most recently played for Chicago Fire, in the MLS.

Having only plied his trade in America so far though, he is a relative unknown to most in British football.
However, one Scottish coach knows plenty about him.
Dundee United assistant, Gordon Forrest, spent six years across various roles at MLS side, Vancouver Whitecaps.

Over that time, he built up considerable knowledge of the league and it’s talent pool.
Polster a good spot by Rangers
“Matt is a good player and I remember him coming through the college system”, Forrest told the Scottish Sun.
“He is very versatile and can play in midfield or full-back. It’s great to see him coming to Scotland and being given a chance.”
The 42-year-old then compared Polster to Ian Harkes, who recently joined Dundee United from another MLS outfit, D.C United.

“Matt and Ian are quite similar and it will take time for them to adapt to the pace of the game. But they both have a physical presence and I’m sure they will flourish”, he continued.
“Matt has a terrific attitude and I’m sure that’s why Steven Gerrard will want him in his side.”
Versatility, physicality and a good attitude.
Certainly, if Forrest is correct, Rangers could have a gem on their hands.
