Giovanni van Bronckhorst has joined Rangers at exactly the right time.
The festive period is the busiest period of the season, especially since the introduction of the winter break which lasts three weeks during January.

Rangers face a challenging run of ten fixtures before the break which could potentially make or break our season. The Ibrox side is currently sitting top of the league with a four-point cushion.
However, Celtic are hot on our tails and van Bronckhorst will pray be praying that his squad holds up.
The run starts with a tough tie away to Livingston on Sunday afternoon, followed by a midweek match against Hibs, in what is a repeat of the recent League Cup semi-final.
Rangers play their last Europa League Group A match against Lyon in the second week of December which is sandwiched in between games against Dundee and Hearts.
The Lyon tie may give the Dutchman a chance to rest key men and experiment as we have already secured qualification.
A welcome run of three home matches follows against St. Johnstone, Dundee United, and St. Mirren, and realistically, nine points should be won during this spell.
The final two games of the hectic run see Rangers play away to Aberdeen and Celtic. Securing maximum points from those two matches will be very difficult but doing so would give a major boost to our hopes of retaining the Premiership title.

The 46-year-old will surely be aiming to maintain, if not increase, the four-point advantage we currently have in the title race over the course of this festive schedule.
In case you missed it, take a look at our starting XI for the away tie against Livingston.
