Two of Rangers’ summer signings are bound to be stinging after Steven Gerrard’s latest comments, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
Kyle Lafferty and Eros Grezda.
Northern Ireland international, Lafferty, arrived for his second spell at Ibrox in August. He made the switch after an impressive season with Hearts, in which he netted 19 times.

Grezda, signed from Croatian side NK Osijek, later that month. The Albanian international winger signed a four-year deal and was described by Gerrard at the time as a ‘very dangerous player.’
Fast-forward to the end of the season, though, and things haven’t gone as planned.
“I think at times and during important times of the season, when I’ve looked to change options or bring people off the bench, we’ve lacked a little bit of quality in the final third,” Gerrard admitted, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
That doesn’t reflect well on either Lafferty or Grezda. Players brought into the club to score and create goals, respectively.
In fairness to Grezda, he has had some injury problems. However, when available, these two players have been two of the main attacking options from the bench.

Gerrard’s opinion is borne out by the stats, too. In 21 league appearances, Lafferty has just four goals. Meanwhile, in 13 outings, Grezda has mustered two goals and a solitary assist.
It’s a very meagre return from two players the club invested heavily in last summer.
Going forward, then, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if either player left the club when the window opens once more.
