After a hugely disappointing midweek result at Kilmarnock, there was something to shout about on Thursday night.
Rangers are once again investing in their brightest young talent.
Just last week, Ryan Hardie, who has enjoyed an excellent loan spell at Livingston, signed a contract extension until 2020.

While some Bears are concerned that deal isn’t long enough, at least he is tied to the club in the short term.
Now, one of the Academy’s top performers, has followed suit.

Andy Dallas, the teenage striker, has penned a new contract.

The young man has been in inspired form for the Reserves so far this season.
While games at that level are few and far between, he has scored at an impressive rate.
In December, he struck six times in just three matches. That included a hat-trick against Kilmarnock Reserves, a brace against Rapid Vienna U20s and a consolation goal against Hearts.
He’s been key to Graeme Murty’s side reaching the summit of the SPFL Reserve League.

Young Dallas also impressed enough to be named on the bench for home league matches against Hibernian and Hamilton, last month.

While he might not have broken through fully as yet, hopefully this new deal is a show of faith from the club.
There’s nothing better than homegrown talent.
Bears rallied around the youngster after the announcement, and it’s great to see.
