Rangers youngster Rydnn McGuire makes a number of saves for Scotland

Via their official website, Rangers issued an update on what their academy graduates have been up to during the international break.

They revealed that McGuire played three games and while he just ended up on the winning side in one of them, his performances were noteworthy.

It has been claimed that the 17-year-old made a number of “impressive” saves for the Scotland Under-19s.

This undoubtedly will have helped cement his place as a regular for the team as he aims to climb up the ranks and one day represent the senior Scotland team.

McGuire has already earned six caps for the Under-19s and is a regular feature in the Rangers Under-18 squad as well.

Danny Rohl has lost just one league game as Rangers manager…

If YOU were to change one thing about his management style for next season, what would it be? 🤔

What will Danny Rohl be looking for from McGuire?

Danny Rohl will surely be given some food for thought with McGuire’s recent displays.

He knows that Mason Munn is another young keeper knocking on the door for first-team opportunities, and it remains to be seen how the two develop over the years.

For McGuire to emerge on Rohl’s radar, he will have to prove to the Gers boss that he has what it takes to become a modern, ball-playing goalkeeper.

The youngster has already been training with the first team, so he will know what is expected of him.

Jack Butland and Liam Kelly have helped him behind the scenes and his performances at the youth level for Scotland show that he is developing well.

Even though Rohl likes a possession-heavy style of play, he would want his keepers to command the box well, and that could be something McGuire works on in the coming months.

He will likely be given chances in pre-season as well, and the onus is on him to impress the manager.
