Rangers U18s pulled off a stunningly comprehensive 7-1 victory over SC Farense during their tour of Portugal on Wednesday afternoon.
The Young Gers jetted off to mainland Europe over a week ago and have been training hard under the supervision of coach and former Gers midfielder, Kevin Thomson.
The 35-year-old tweeted before the game hoping for a tough encounter against the second-tier club.
However, as it turned out, the opposition weren’t on the same level and his team’s superiority was demonstrated by an impressive scoreline.
It was a field day for the age group’s attacking players, with Chris McKee and Matty Yates each grabbing a brace, while an own goal added to further strikes from Ross McCausland and Robbie Fraser.
McKee, who is a Northern Ireland youth international, continues to make waves, after impressing fans with a quickfire hat-trick against Inverness Caley Thistle in late November.

It’s another big confidence builder for the U18 group, who have largely dominated in domestic competition this season.
A relatively young squad went on this tour, with players like Nathan Patterson, Kai Kennedy and Leon King in and around the first team in recent times.
Therefore, when it comes to returning to Scottish Youth Cup duty later this month, this side is likely to be even stronger.
