There were no such problems at the back on derby day, though, as the Gers defence stepped up with a clean sheet.

Things went well at the top end of the pitch too, with Tyler Pasnik, Nathan Young-Coombes and James Graham all netting.

After recruiting heavily during the summer, Rangers have a number of talented young forwards in the Academy ranks and Graham has made the best impression of all the newbies so far.

The teenager had trials with Manchester United and Liverpool before joining from Ross County and it’s becoming clear why he’s so highly rated.

He’s found the net three times in the last fortnight, scoring against Queen’s Park, Partick Thistle and now, Celtic.

Nathan Young-Coombes is a player more supporters will be familiar with, due to his impressive contributions since signing from Chelsea in early 2019.

The England youth international scored the winner in a dramatic Youth Cup final triumph over Celtic during his first season at the club and he produced the goods once again in this one.

Young-Coombes was linked with a move to West Ham in the summer [Four Lads Had a Dream] but no deal materialised and he continues to look a very useful asset for Rangers.
